“IS THIS WORKSHOP RIGHT FOR ME?”
YES, if you are just starting with oils, or have had a little experience in other mediums, drawing and/or painting. It will be a good refresher course, if you used oils in the past.
“WHAT WILL WE LEARN?”
During this workshop, you will learn the whole process and use it twice from start to finish in oil painting. You will learn how to manage the difficulties of the oil painting process working towards a successful painting. Zufar will share his work secrets of oil painting, going from drawing to underpainting, block-in stage, and answer all of your questions.
Right from the beginning, students will be shown how to use these critical foundational skills in a system that works.

WHAT WILL WE WORK ON?
Each of you will complete two 11"x 14" painting projects while learning basics and specifics, the correct order and the unique character of painting with oils. Starting with a simpler setup for the first project, a still life, you will immediately be working with a multi-layer approach in stages. On the second day you will apply your skills to work on a local landscape scene.
Along the way you will create a few references, finding your strong and weak skills.
You will learn how to continue studying and improving your painting skills when this workshop is over and you are on your own.
Students who want to go further can take the follow-on workshop, or explore mentoring opportunities.
